Ontic Computing: A New Paradigm for Software Agent
نویسنده
چکیده
Stemming from multiagent systems and systemics, the aim of ontic computing is the study of the complex properties of software agents. For this purpose, it provides a unified conceptual framework called Systemion Model built on the concepts of external finality, internal finality, qualities and attributes.

Automaton model of protein: dynamics of conformational and functional states
In this conceptual paper we propose to explore the analogy between ontic/epistemic description of quantum phenomena and interrelation between dynamics of conformational and functional states of proteins. Another new idea is to apply theory of automata to model the latter dynamics. In our model protein's behavior is modeled with the aid of two dynamical systems, ontic and epistemic, which descri...
متن کاملCollaborative Computing and Applications J.UCS Special Issue
Evolving from parallel computing, cluster computing, grid computing, to nowadays cloud computing, the distributed computing paradigm has been shifting from parallelization, distribution, sharing, to be able to support full-scale collaboration between systems and people. This new computing paradigm can be called collaborative computing, composing of technologies and techniques to facilitate peop...
متن کاملMobile Agents and Security
Mobile agent technology offers a new computing paradigm in which a software agent can suspend its execution on a host computer, transfer itself to another agent-enabled host on the network, and resume execution on the new host. The use of mobile code has a long history dating back to the use of remote job entry systems in the 1960's. Today's agent incarnations can be characterized in a number o...
متن کاملCooperative Epistemic Multi-Agent Planning With Implicit Coordination
Epistemic Planning has been used to achieve ontic and epistemic control in multi-agent situations. We extend the formalism to include perspective shifts, allowing us to define a class of cooperative problems in which both action planning and execution is done in a purely distributed fashion, meaning coordination is only allowed implicitly by means of the available epistemic actions. While this ...
متن کاملThe Agent Paradigm
After a short recapitulation of some criticisms of the traditional view of computation this contribution sketches a new way how systems may be understood as computing devices set up from simple individually autonomous communicating and cooperating computing units called agents, and how this understanding – the agent paradigm – may influence researches in a broad spectrum of different systems an...
